The HSG is an early intervention grant programme, funded by the Welsh Government. The programme has been set up to help some of Wales’ most vulnerable people to live independently in their own home or supported housing.

Service description
Supported living project that houses adults over the age of 16 at risk of homelessness, referred through our (Wrexham Council’s) Housing Options Team or social services. Client-centred support services include housing-related support, and signposting to any relevant agencies requested by the service user.

Supported living project within the Foyer complex, for vulnerable young people. Client-centred support includes housing-related support issues, and signposting to relevant agencies.

Service description
Hurst Newton is a supported living project on the outskirts of Wrexham, with high-quality single room accommodation as well as communal facilities such as a residents’ lounge, kitchen, dining room, and access to a garden.
24-hour staff support is provided in safe and secure premises, giving the opportunity to break free from homeless living.

- Eligibility: Young single people aged from 16 to 25 who are vulnerable and require support. They may be homeless or at risk of homelessness; care leavers; or single parents with children under the age of two. They have either self-referred or been referred through our (Wrexham Council’s) Housing Support Gateway by various professional agencies, such as social services, GPs, housing officers, Women's Aid, or Compass.

Service description
The scheme provides accommodation in self-contained furnished flats, with communal facilities for group work and social events.
Support is provided to help service users to meet their needs and to enable them to develop the necessary independence to take control over their own lives.
