Frequently asked questions

Has a Welsh Language Impact Assessment been carried out?

Yes, a copy of the Welsh Language Impact Assessment can be found on our consultation webpage and on the Your Voice webpage. Hard copies are available on request.

What will happen when children leave Cae’r Gwenyn? Concern about lack of ALN places and children being placed in mainstream

There is a panel process in Wrexham which determines the most appropriate placement for each child. This is explained further on page 8 in the consultation document under the heading ‘Early Years Placement Panel.’

Has the change been highlighted in the Welsh in Education Strategic Plan (WESP). If not, why not?

The change has not yet been highlighted in the WESP because the WESP was published in 2022, thereby predating this consultation. The proposal is subject to a statutory public consultation and subject to approval by the Council’s Executive Board. A final decision will be taken in July 2025. If the proposal is implemented, it will be included in our annual progress report on the WESP to Welsh Government, which is also shared with Councillors.
