Playday is the UK wide annual celebration of children’s right to play that takes place every August on the first Wednesday of the month.
Playday in Wrexham
Wrexham celebrates national Playday each year by holding a large scale, free and open access play event from 12pm to 4pm in the town centre on Queen’s Square and Llwyn Isaf.
Over the years our Playday events have built up quite a reputation with thousands of people visiting each year. The event offers something for everyone who enjoys playing. Lots of different groups provide some form of opportunity for children's play, creating one big and very playful environment.
We celebrate Playday on the first Wednesday of August. Our celebrations are linked into the National Playday campaign which aims to promote the importance of children being given the opportunity to play.
Past Playdays have included waterslides, giant sandpits, jumping towers, mazes, crafts, treasure hunts and much more. We have also had an online Playday as well as smaller community circus workshops.
