Disabled on-street parking
The Blue Badge scheme is not a licence to just park anywhere. There are many locations that you are not allowed to park under any circumstances; check the parking arrangements for your destination beforehand.
In general the scheme allows the following parking benefits as long as your valid Blue Badge is on display, badge holders:
- may park free of charge without time limit at parking meters and 'pay and display' on-street parking unless a local traffic order specifying a time limit for holders or blue badges is in force
- may be exempt from limits on parking times imposed on other users
- may usually park on single or double yellow lines for up to three hours in Wales
