Busking is music, dance, street, theatre, performance and art offered live in a public space for the purpose of entertaining and interacting with members of the public, and receiving voluntary contributions. It creates an atmosphere, not a nuisance.
We encourage buskers to come to Wrexham City Centre, but please make yourself fully aware of our rules before you come.
You must follow these guidelines at all times or you will be warned or even removed.
Guidelines for buskers and street entertainers
- Busking is allowed between the hours of 10am and 3pm.
- You must not use any amplifiers, loud speakers, mobile devices, or any similar equipment during your performance.
- You must have Public Liability Insurance in place of up to £2 million, and be able to produce the certificate as proof at any time.
- You are only allowed to perform for 40 minutes, in each location.
- After 40 minutes, you must move at least 100 metres away from your previous location.
- You must have a full and varied repertoire, and avoid repeating any one piece of music each day.
- You must not cause any obstruction to pedestrians and road users.
- If we start to get complaints from the public or local businesses, you will be asked to either come to a compromise, given a warning, or asked to remove yourself.
We look forward to you visiting Wrexham, and performing in our city.
