Waterworld

Waterworld is the perfect place for family fun and is ideally situated in the centre of Wrexham. This excellent aquatic activity centre features a 25 metre competition pool with seating for 300 spectators, a learner pool for very young children, a function pool for classes and a relaxing bubble pool. For those seeking fun and adventure, there's a brilliant selection of water features including a 65 metre flume and a rapid river ride.

After a hard work out at the gym, there's a health suite complete with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room to really relax those aching muscles or simply unwind.

Plas Madoc Leisure Centre

Plas Madoc Leisure Centre is situated seven miles from Wrexham at Acrefair. This popular leisure facility attracts visitors from all over the region and beyond. The Centre's leisure pool, the Tropical Lagoon, is ideal for a spot of aquatic fun! Visitors can walk along the surf, climb on the crocodile, slide down the snake and play in the waves. The Lagoon with it's shallow water and 'beach' is perfect for young children.

Plas Madoc also offers a comprehensive range of sporting facilities and classes including 3 squash courts, 4 badminton courts, indoor football, martial arts and circuit training, fitness sessions and table tennis, and the centre's most recent addition is an excellent indoor climbing wall which is suitable for both novice and experienced climbers.

Chirk Leisure Centre

Chirk Leisure Centre has a full range of leisure facilities and is the perfect location for fitness and fun. Visitors can enjoy the 25 metre swimming pool which holds lane swimming, over 50's, ladies only and parent and toddler swimming sessions. Visitors can enjoy the fitness suite offering full fitness programmes and classes, as well as excellent activities from badminton and tennis to Tae Kwon Do, not to mention football and hockey on the all weather pitch. The centre also has a sauna and Steam Room.

Techniquest@NEWI

Techniquest Science Discovery Centre is a brilliant day out for all the family and is located within easy reach of Wrexham town centre at Plas Coch. Visitors can take up the challenge and participate in over 60 exciting interactive games and exhibition activities that explore and explain the mysteries of science. Skilled and friendly Techniquest staff will demonstrate this engrossing and surprising world through live science theatre and informative experiments. From 'Sporty Science' to 'Bubbles & Bangs', the science shows offer excellent fun in a safe environment and run throughout the day. Interactive fun includes giant-sized musical exhibits, a spinning 'Orb' with fl owing crystals that simulate the fl ow patterns of our atmosphere and a spooky 'Shadow Wall' that takes on a life of its own!

Ty Mawr Country Park

Ty Mawr County Park is situated five miles south of Wrexham, right on the banks of the River Dee enjoying fantastic views over the Vale of Llangollen. The park observes traditional organic farming practices, and visitors are able to feed the animals which include ponies, donkeys, goats, ducks, geese and some rare breeds of sheep. The site includes an excellent children's play area and picnic facilities along with an informative Visitor Centre offering further information about the countryside activities on offer. Visitors to the park have easy access to Offa's Dyke path, the Dee Valley, Llangollen Canal, Cefn Viaduct and Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.
