On your first visit to the Health & Fitness Suite, you will be given a brief medical questionnaire to complete; we will check your Blood Pressure, ask you about your previous exercise experience and your health and fitness goals will be established. These will be used as a basis for developing an exercise plan to get you started. You will be shown round the suite and the equipment will be explained and demonstrated.
The fitness suite has a full range of CV, resistance and free weight equipment supplied by Technogym. All CV equipment has touch screen controls, on board TV, radio, interactive games and iPod docking facility and is simple and easy to use. All you need is your own pair of earphones and you can listen to your favourite program or your own music selection whilst exercising! If you want to lose some weight, get a little fitter or have aspirations to compete at the highest level in your chosen sport, our male and female instructors can offer programmes to suit your lifestyle, goals and ambitions.
Our instructors also contribute to some important local health schemes such as the National GP Referral Scheme and Cardiac Rehabilitation at phase IV level:
Age restrictions do apply in our Fitness Suite and unrestricted use of the Health & Fitness suite is from 16 years old (there is no upper limit!). We have a junior gym for 12 – 15 year olds on Sundays from 11.00am to 1.00pm and anyone wishing to participate should book an induction at reception. For this age group we ask that a parent is present and signs the health check and consent form. Please call reception for further information.
Relax and unwind in our mixed sauna and steam rooms. The sauna is set at a sweltering 90°, it’s the perfect place to relax after a workout, whilst, the steam room has a eucalyptus scent to open airways. The area also has a large relaxation area where you can sit and socialise in a calming environment.
Plas Madoc offers a variety of fitness classes - from boxercise to aerobics, all levels are catered for. Our instructors will lead you through a complete workout and motivate you towards your goals. Each class is constantly updated with the latest equipment and moves to keep you on top of your game.
If you require a lower intensity workout, try one of our many aerobics or aqua classes. For those more used to high impact our boxercise and circuit classes are not for the faint hearted!!
