NLP: The Leader's Secret Weapon

CMI Cymru in association with Glyndwr University, Wrexham is pleased to present our latest Leadership event for North Wales, presented by Laura Evans of Unleash Your Potential. This event starts at 6pm with time for refreshments and an opportunity to network. The workshop will run from 6.30pm until 8.00. NLP: The Leader's Secret Weapon •43% of UK managers rate their own line manager as ineffective •Ineffective management is estimated to be costing UK businesses over £19billion per year in lost working hours This session is designed as an introduction to Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) for managers, leaders, directors & business owners who want to help their teams get even better results During this session you'll learn: •What NLP is (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and how can it help you and your business •How to consciously build rapport and therefore make being a leader easier (you’ll learn how to build rapport with anyone, even people you don’t like!) •How to identify our employees/clients 'preferred' language and use this to tailor our conversation in a way that better works for the listener •Understand how our values determine what people focus on, spend time on and how they motivate us. Learn how to use a knowledge of values to motivate and inspire those around us. •How to tailor our interactions so our communications land more effectively (e.g. big picture vs. detail, whether they favour sameness or difference etc) •To spot individuals preferences and utilise them to influence more elegantly (e.g. do they have a tendency to ‘towards' what they want or 'away from what they don’t want; are they are literal or inferential speaker or listener) The workshop will be fun, interactive, and full of practical takeaways that you can put into practice in your business straight away. You don’t need any prior knowledge of NLP or communication skills, simply come with an attitude of curiosity and a willingness to learn!

Timed to coincide with Wales’s first appearance at an international football finals since 1958, this exhibition chronicles the heroic endeavours of the Wales’s greatest footballers. The right of a Wales team to exist has often been questioned and its stars refused permission to play; however, the team has become one of the unifiers of Wales and its star players – John Charles, Ian Rush, Ryan Giggs and Gareth Bale, some of the most famous Welshmen in the world. The Last One Standing: The Tale of Bersham Colliery

On December 18th 1986, the last tub of coal was wound to the surface at Bersham Colliery. With the closure of the last pit in the Denbighshire coalfield, a centuries-old tradition came to an end. This exhibition tells the story of coal mining through the history of one pit, that although often threatened with closure, outlasted many larger and more modern collieries. In association with the North Wales Miners Association Trust.
