Extra Care housing is designed to give you an independent lifestyle, backed up by on site care and support as you need it.

You’ll be able to live in your own apartment - whilst having the peace of mind that support is right on your doorstep, if you become more dependent. There are also shared facilities, as well as areas where you can meet other residents and socialise when you want.

There are currently two Extra Care housing schemes in Wrexham...

Plas Telford Extra Care scheme

Plas Telford has 54 one/two bedroom high quality apartments and is located near the village of Acrefair.

ClwydAlyn owns the building and provides the management and catering/cleaning services on site, while we provide domiciliary care and housing related support within the scheme.

Domiciliary care is provided within residents’ own apartments, normally providing help with tasks such as dressing, washing or toileting. The care is provided where necessary - to meet the assessed care and support needs of the residents.

Eligibility

If you’re aged 55 or over, have an ‘assessed support need’ and live in Wrexham (or have close connections to the local area) then you could be eligible.

How to apply

You can apply using the online form found on Plas Telford’s site, where you can also find further information about the scheme.

Maes y Dderwen Extra Care scheme

Maes y Dderwen has 60 one/two bedroom high quality apartments and is located on Grosvenor Road, Wrexham.
