One Wrexham Charter of Belonging
2009 was an important year for the One Wrexham initiative. It saw the launch of the One Wrexham Charter of Belonging. A key aim of the One Wrexham Charter is to develop and improve equality and community cohesion in Wrexham. Public Sector organisations, Voluntary and Community Groups and Businesses were invited to sign up to the Charter thereby making a public statement of commitment to the values it expresses. While the Charter is not a legally binding agreement, over time we hope it will become a symbol of local good practice in relation to cohesion and equalities issues. We hope to involve people from all walks of life in this initiative, further promoting our aim. In 2009 we had over 100 signatories to the Charter and that number has been steadily growing ever since the launch.
