Job Opportunities

In Operation

There will be a wide range of jobs available at the prison, potentially up to 1,000. Many of these posts will be prison officers. Outline details on the prison officer post, including salary, are included in the website below:

However, many other skills and professions will be required. Recruitment for staff in the prison, by the National Offender Management Service, has commenced. A number of recruitment events have already taken place in Wrexham, Rhyl and Shrewsbury with further events to be scheduled.

If you are interested in working in the prison once it is operational, please visit www.nomscareers.com and sign up for alerts for any vacancies forthcoming and for any information on any future recruitment events.

Construction Phase

The prison is being built by Lendlease. An Expression of Interest form is now available (below) if you wish to express an interest in working on the North Wales Prison project during the construction phase. Many job opportunities are available for local people but there are also work placements and apprenticeships available over the lifetime of the build. The video below shows some of the job opportunities that are available.

A Jobcentre Plus Officer has been seconded to the project to help local people get access to these opportunities. All completed Expression of Interest forms should be returned to JobCentre Plus at Wrexham.northwalesprisonrecruitment@dwp.gsi.gov.uk.
